Oman Ministerial Decision No. 67/2023 Considering a Binding Omani Specification
Abrogating:
Oman Ministerial Decision No. 12/2012 dated 18/03/2012
Based on Oman Sultani Decree No. 97/2020 amending the name of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to become Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and determining its competencies and approving its Organisational Structure;
Oman Ministerial Decision No. 12/2012 on the approval of the Gulf Technical Regulation no. 246/2011 on the labels of the packages of tobacco products as a binding Omani Standard Specification; and
Based on the public interest requirements,
The following Decision was issued:
Article 1
Omani Standard Specification no. (OS 1655:2022) on the plain packaging of tobacco products shall be deemed as a binding Omani Standard Specification.
Article 2
An administrative fine that does not exceed (OMR 1000) shall be imposed on whomever breaches the violations of this Decision. Said fine shall be doubled in case of recidivism.
Article 3
Aforementioned Oman Ministerial Decision No. 12/2012 shall be abrogated, and any provisions deemed contrary to or inconsistent with the present Decision shall be abrogated.
