Oman Ministerial Decision No. 520/2013 On the Organization of Part-time Work
Based on the Labour Law promulgated by the Oman Sultani Decree No. 35/2003,
The Oman Sultani Decree No. 76/2004 defining the jurisdictions on the Ministry of Manpower and adopting its' organizational structure,
And based on the public interest,
Decides:
Article 1
When enforcing the provisions of this Decision, the following words and expressions shall have the meaning apposed before each of them unless the context stipulates otherwise:
The part time worker: The worker whose working hours or regular working days are less than the working hours or days decided legally.
The department: The department specialized in employment.
Article 2
The employer may hire a part worker under the following conditions:
The working hours per day shall not exceed 4 hours.
The hourly wage shall be of no less than 3 Omani Riyals.
Hiring shall be restricted to Omani workers.
The part time worker shall be a job seeker. It is possible to hire a person who is already sixteen (16) years old between six (6) o'clock in the morning and six (6) o'clock in the evening only.
