Oman Ministerial Decision No. 386/2022 On Providing Consumers With e-Payment Service
Based on the Law of Commerce issued on Oman Sultani Decree No. 55/90;
Commercial Companies Law issued by Oman Sultani Decree No. 18/2019;
Oman Sultani Decree No. 97/2020 amending the title of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to become Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and determining its competencies, and approving its organisational structure; and
Based on the requirements of the public interest;
The following has been decided:
Article 1
The commercial institutions and companies operating in the activities mentioned in the Annex of this Decision shall provide e-payment service to all consumers.
Article 2
The Ministry, in case of the violation of the provisions of this Decision, may impose any of the following administrative sanctions:
1- Warning the offender and obliging him to provide e-payment service within a duration that does not exceed (20) days.
2- Imposing an administrative fine of (100) Omani Riyals.
Article 3
This Decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and shall come into force (30) days from the date of its publication.
