The return for obtaining a commercial loan or debt shall be set at (6%), unless a lower percentage is approved. The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion - in each case separately – may agree with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on exceeding such percentage, in case of a long-term loan or in case the purpose of the loan is related to projects that contribute to the economic development or in case the degree of risk is high.

The provisions of Article 1 of this Decision shall not apply to the loans provided by banks and financing companies, and for the rental of assets licensed by the Central Bank of Oman.
