Based on the competencies of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology issued by Oman Sultani Decree No. 90/2020 related to preparing the necessary standards to preserve information electronically to ensure ease of its circulation and auditing, and maintain its confidentiality and the related procedures, the Ministry has prepared this Document with the aim of establishing a set of controls for protecting Personal Data that include its Processing, storage, Disclosure, access, modification and viewing.

The Units of the Administrative Apparatus of the State shall comply with the following provisions:

Protecting all personal information and data in their possession, including the information and data they receive from other units, or that is disclosed to other units.

Applying security and regulatory measures to protect the data from accidental or unauthorised Destruction, accidental loss, unauthorised alteration, Disclosure or hacking or any other form of Processing.

Processing Personal Data within the geographical borders of the Sultanate of Oman to ensure the preservation of the national sovereignty of the data and the protection of the privacy of the Data Subjects.
