Lebanon Law No. 1/1956 On Bank Secrecy

The President of the Republic,

is hereby promulgating the following Law as approved by the Parliament::

Article 1

Article 1 has been amended by virtue of paragraph “First” of article 1 of Lebanon Law No. 306/2022 dated 28/10/2022 to read as follows:

All banks established in Lebanon in the form of joint-stock companies, as well as all banks operating as branches of foreign companies, are subject to professional secrecy.

The Bank of Agricultural, Industrial, and Real Estate Credit is expressly exempt from the stipulations of this Law.

Article 2 has been amended by virtue of paragraph “First” of article 1 of Lebanon Law No. 306/2022 dated 28/10/2022 to read as follows:
