Qatar: Three-Month Amnesty for Illegal Expatriate Residents

Analysis

From 1 September 2016, individuals staying in the country without valid immigration authorisation can regulate their status by leaving Qatar without facing penalties. The amnesty will conclude on 1 December 2016.

The Ministry of Interior has announced a three-month amnesty for illegal foreign residents in Qatar who are in violation of the Entry, Exit, Residence and Sponsorship of Expatriates Law.
