Opposing a trademark application is one of the most important and effective actions that can be taken to prevent the registration of an identical or a confusingly similar trademark, and it has particular importance in Bahrain. Opposing a trademark application is much cheaper and less time consuming than trying to remove a trademark once registered in the name of another party. This article looks at the process of opposing trademark applications in Bahrain, which is a process governed by GCC Law No. 6/2014.
