Analysis
Bahrain's Interior Ministry has announced GCC residents seeking entry to Bahrain based on a visitor visa on-arrival must have GCC residence permits valid for not less than three months.
They must have actual residence in the issuing country for the same period of time.
This does not affect GCC residents who otherwise qualify for the visa on-arrival based on their nationality.
Previously, GCC residents were required to hold a residence permit issued by another GCC state with a minimum validity of six months.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Affected individuals must ensure their GCC residence permit is valid for a minimum of three months to qualify for the visa-on-arrival in Bahrain. Foreign nationals must also demonstrate actual residency in the issuing country for the same period of time.
