On 6 January 2015, the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM or the Global Market) issued six consultation papers proposing new legislation for the Global Market. This Client Alert provides an analysis of the proposals set out in Consultation Paper No 5 of 2015 relating to Employment Regulations.
Application of English law
The proposed Employment Regulations create a statutory framework of employment law, the purpose being to provide for “minimum employment standards for employees, promote a fair balance of rights and obligations between employees and employers and foster employment practices that will contribute to the prosperity of the Global Market.”
