What are the key differences between UK construction law and the law in the UAE?
The legal system of the UAE has its foundation in the Egyptian approach of codified civil law principles incorporating and backed up by Islamic jurisprudence in certain areas. The UAE's constitution, additionally, asserts the primacy of Islamic law as the source of law in the country.
That said, in general, parties are bound by the contractual terms they have agreed except in the exceptional categories of agreements or terms which offend decency or public order, or are subject to certain prevailing mandatory provisions of the law.
