The move follows recommendations from the Parliamentary Financial Committee for taxes and fees on cigarettes, alcohol, cosmetic products and nuts to be increased.

The list is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet within days and also includes air conditioning units, LCD TVs and refrigerators.

If approved, the 10% increases would come into effect before the end of the month.
