Jordan's Council of Ministers has approved an amendment to the 2013 Communications Law to ensure it is consistent with the constitution.
Under the constitution, a court order must be granted before confidential communications, including telephone calls, can be monitored.
The Council also approved amendments to the Penal Code ensuring evidence obtained from torture in court, including psychological torture, is inadmissible.
