Analysis
Egypt's Cabinet has approved a draft law exempting banks from paying income tax. If approved, the law, prepared by the Finance Ministry, would repeal an amendment introduced earlier this year.
Banks will now be taxed in line with Central Bank financial disclosure rules.
The Minister added the policy announcement comes as part of broader efforts to coordinate with the Central Bank to establish a clear tax policy.
