Jordan's Council of Ministers has approved amendments to the country's income tax law to reduce tax exemption levels in the Kingdom.
Income tax
The monthly income tax threshold for households will be reduced from 2,000 to 1,500 dinars and 3% of households will continue to be exempt from paying any income tax at all.
Tax exemptions
Tax exemptions will be reduced from 12,000 to 9,000 dinars per person, or from 24,000 to 18,000 dinars per family. The changes will reduce the number of Jordanians benefiting from 99 to 96%.
