Jordan's Parliament yesterday approved the general tax law presented by the government to impose a special tax on 12 items including mobile phones. The Parliament has not yet set a specific tax rate. This is to prevent traders hiding goods subject to the new tax.
Items included
Perfumes, mobile phones, artworks and other rare pieces, dog and cats food and diamonds.
Items excluded
Spirits, cigarettes and first class flights tickets are amongst the goods the Parliament has refused to impose the new tax on.
