UAE, South Korea Sign Customs Cooperation Agreement

The UAE's Federal Customs Authority (FCA) and Korea's Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) have signed a customs cooperation agreement. The agreement states customs violations which affect the economic, commercial, financial, social or cultural interests of both countries will be curbed and violators will be punished.

The agreement also commits both countries to:

- tackle practices which jeopardise the security, exchange of best practices and experiences in customs matters,

- ensure economic and social security,

- develop customs awareness and culture by exchanging experiences information, and

- offer joint training courses.

The agreement was signed for Korea by the Deputy Director of the Bilateral Cooperation Division of the Korea Customs Service, Minkling Lee.

The agreement was signed for the UAE by the FCA's Acting Director General, Khaled Ali Al Bustani.
