The GCC is considering imposing a new selective and unified 50% tax on fizzy drinks
A similar tax on tobacco has already been initially approved by the GCC.
The move follows a GCC Health Ministers proposal which followed studies finding fizzy drinks are cheapest in the GCC when compared to the rest of the world.
