Analysis
The US has decided to bring Egypt into the Generalised System of Preferences programme that grants privileges to close trading partners
The goal of the decision is to help Egyptian companies increase and diversify their exports to the US.
This, in turn, will hopefully increase employment opportunities and prosperity in Egypt.
The agreement removes customs duties on more than 3400 Egyptian products that enter the US market.
