Merchants and traders registered with the Customs department can receive short messages on their mobile phones with the amount of tax to pay and to confirm completion of the customs declaration when they are ready to pay.

Along with email services, this new SMS programme is part of a larger programme within Jordan's Customs department to apply the latest technology in order to simplify and speed up procedures.
