The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) has announced that it is drafting a new income tax law and is seeking input from various social and economic groups to ensure the new law promotes social justice
President of the Egyptian Income Tax Authority, Ahmed Rafaat said that the ETA is currently drafting a new income tax law after a series of discussions with university professors, taxpayers, and the community of tax lawyers and after presenting the results to the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF), currently governing Egypt.
A Decree has been announced proposing amendments to the income tax law which emphasises that the goal of the amendments is to promote social justice.
