UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued Cabinet Resolution No 16/2011 requiring passengers using UAE airports to pay a AED 5 safety and security fee
The new legislation excludes children under two years, cabin crew members, transit passengers and passengers travelling onwards within 24 hours of arrival.
Under the Resolution, which will take effect on 28 July 2011, the fee is to be levied when the ticket is purchased no matter where the ticket is bought or issued, as civil aviation authorities will levy the fee directly or through other parties.
