Jordan's cabinet is considering raising the sales tax on mobile phones from 12% to 16%
A high-ranking source has confirmed that the Cabinet was studying a proposal to impose a 16% sales tax on mobile phone sales.
During 2010 the government raised the tax from 8% to 12% under a law called the Special Tax on Mobile Phones.
