Analysis
Jordan's Ministry of Industry and Trade has implemented the recommendation from the Council of Ministers to reduce the proportion of the sales tax imposed on the poultry sector
The sales tax has been reduced to 0% from 4%.
Merchants and traders in the poultry sector are reacting very positively, stating that the elimination of the sales tax will reduce prices for consumers and thus improve their sales.
They say that any governmental decision to lower taxes on prices increases citizens' purchasing power.
This decision also removes a huge burden on merchants, who no longer have to manage the various fees that accompanied the tax.
