Jordan's cabinet has agreed to allow hybrid cars in the economic free zones partial exemption from the special tax levied on hybrid cars in 2010 under certain conditions
The government has agreed to exempt hybrid cars located in the economic free zones from 50% of the special tax on the condition that the date of purchase was before 7 March 2010.
Government officials confirmed that the Cabinet discussed two memos from the Minister of Finance and the Chair of the organisation of investors in the free zones on the matter of the organisation's request regarding hybrid cars.
The decision applies to vehicles that entered into the kingdom before the end of April 2010.
