Qatar and Malaysia signed a protocol amending some provisions of the convention on avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income. Qatar joined the OECD Global Forum of transparency last Septembe and the signature of this agreement is part of its plan to adopt the principle of transparency and information exchange for tax purposes set out in OECD's standards.
