This case involved a claim for compensation for an injury caused by a fire. The key point was the court's authority to assess evidence in tort cases. Witness statements had failed to prove a casual relationship between the girl's injuries and the other girls who had been seen watching fireworks.
Background
Some Respondents filed the original proceedings before the Sharjah Court of First Instance under Case No. (1317/2000) seeking compensation for arson fire damages inflicted on their daughter by the daughters of the Appellants.
The Respondents filed their claim in tort seeking compensation for the damages that were inflicted on their daughter, which could not have been repaired: and the Court of First Instance allowed their claim for compensation of (100,000 AED).
Unsatisfied, the Appellants proceeded to appeal the decision before the Sharjah Court of Appeal under Appeal No. (904/2001): which dismissed their appeal.
