Evidence – Blank Settlement – Employee’s Rights
This case involved a claim by an employee for their entitlements. The employee argued they had signed a settled document when it was blank. The document was sent to the criminal evidence office which confirmed it was the employee's signature and on that basis it was ruled this issue should no longer be considered.
Background
An employee filed a claim with the First Instance Authority for Settlement of Labour Disputes (FIASLD) in Medina against an employer requesting the payment of his labour entitlements.
The FIASLD issued a ruling dismissing the case on the grounds the employee had signed a final settlement with the employer.
