SCSLD 432/1/1460/2011
Background
An employee filed a claim with the First Instance Authority for Settlement of Labour Disputes (FIASLD) against a company requesting salary for the remaining period of their contract, compensation for financial damages for being dismissed, and salary from the months starting from the date on which he was dismissed and up until his return.
The FIASLD issued a ruling requesting the company to reinstate the employee so they could complete the rest of the contract and pay his salaries up until his return. The FIASLD dismissed the rest of the requests because there was no evidence to show that he was entitled to them.
Decision
The company filed an appeal before the SLHASLD, that the company headquarters were in Dubai and it had been founded based on the Private Companies Law in Dubai so the employee's place of work was Dubai therefore the SLHASLD did not agree with the appealed ruling.
