SCSLD 431/2/159/2010

This case involved a claim by an employee for payment of the salary of an employee they had been covering, other benefits and compensation for a workplace injury caused by working with computers. The payment of salary for covering the other employee was confirmed but the other requests were rejected as there had been insufficient evidence they were due.

Background

An employee filed a case before the First Authority for Settlement of Labour Disputes in Mecca requesting his employer pay him the salary for an employee on leave plus 15% under Royal Gift plus a housing allowance and compensation for damage which had resulted from him working with computers.

The Authority issued a ruling requesting the employer to pay the employee the salary of his colleague who had gone on leave as the employee had covered his work and dismissed the other requests.
