SCSLD 431/1/1876/2010

This case involved fines issued against an employee and employer and a deportation order on the employee.

Background

The Labour Office filed a case before the First Instance Authority for Settlement of Labour Disputes (FIASLD) in Riyadh against an employee and an employer because they had violated Saudi Arabia Ministerial Decision No. 826/1975.

The FIASLD issued a ruling requesting the employer and the employee to pay an equal share of an amount of 4000 Riyals and requested the deportation of the employee permanently to his country with costs met by the employee.

The employee and the company appealed the ruling before the SLHASLD claiming that they did not violate this Ministerial Decision.

Decision

The SLHASLD stated the employer had failed to submit what could lead to changing the ruling and as such the SLHASLD agrees with the appealed ruling.

The SLHASLD issued a ruling upholding the appealed ruling.
