This case involved an employee who was requesting reinstatement, unpaid dues and continuation of service. The employee had signed a settlement agreement with the employee so was not entitled to make these claims.

Background

An employee filed a case before the First Instance Authority for Settlement of Labour Disputes in Riyadh against a company requesting they reinstate him and pay his salary for the suspension period. The employee also requested that the company consider his service as being continuous.

The First Instance Authority issued a ruling dismissing the claim.

Decision

The employee filed an appeal before the High Authority for Settlement of Labour Disputes (SLHASLD, which considered the case and stated the employee's legal representative had conceded that the employee had signed a final settlement and received his full rights from the company therefore the SLHASLD agreed with the ruling issued by the First Instance Authority.

The SLHASLD issued a ruling issued a ruling upholding the ruling issued by the First Instance Authority in Riyadh (No. 703/2006).
