This case involved a bounced cheque which had been paid to the father of some heirs after he had paid the money for a share in a partnership. The heirs were paid the cheque amount and lawyer's costs.
Background
The heirs of a deceased man filed a case against a company before the court. They said that their father had paid an amount of money to the company for a share in a partnership. They said that the company had then issued their father cheques of the same amount but the cheques bounced. They requested the court to order the company to pay the value of the cheques. They also requested the court to order the company to pay the lawyer's expenses.
Decision
The court said that the case documents had revealed that the company had issued two cheques to the heirs' father and that these cheques bounced.
The court ruled that the company should pay the heirs 945000 Riyals for the value of the cheques in addition to 189000 Riyals for the lawyers' expenses.
