SCA 192/2019
This case involved whether a defendant could be prevented from travelling until a case involving a share in a company was settled.
Background
A claimant filed a case against a defendant before the court. He requested the court to order the defendant to pay him 55000 Riyals. He said that he had paid this amount as share in the capital of a company with the defendant. He said that the defendant had failed to commit to his obligations.
The defendant denied the claim made by the claimant.
The claimant requested the court to prevent the defendant from travelling.
Decision
The court ruled that the defendant should be prevented from travelling until the case was settled in accordance with Article 108 of the Law of Advocacy.
The defendant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal.
The court dismissed the appeal and upheld the appealed ruling.
