SCA 1878/2019

This case involved payment of an amount defined in a general court ruling for a contract which had not been carried out to agreed standards. An expert appointed by the court had confirmed an amount owed due to the status of a building.

Background

A claimant filed a case against a company before the court. He requested the court to order the company to pay him 111549 Riyals as compensation. He said that the company had failed to execute the contract according to the agreed standards.

The case documents revealed that the claimant had filed a case against the company in the general court in order to prove the status of a building built by the company. The court said that the expert appointed by the court had concluded that the company owes 28361 Riyals. The claimant requested the court to order the company to pay him the amount.

Decision

The court ruled that the company should pay the claimant 28361 Riyals.

The Court of Appeal – Jeddah upheld the ruling based on same grounds.
