This case involved non-payment of purchased goods. The defendant had admitted they owed money but asked for time to confirm how much was owed. This was refused as bills had been provided as evidence.
Background
A company filed a case against another company before the court. The company requested the court to order the other company to pay 536850 Riyals. The company said that they had supplied the other company with raw materials but the latter had failed to commit to their obligations.
The other company admitted that they owed an amount of money but requested some time to calculate the company’s exact entitlements.
Decision
The court said that the case documents revealed that the company had provided the court with the documents that proved their claim including bills which were stamped by the other company. The court said that the other company confirmed that they had issued the bills.
The court ruled that the other company should pay the company the mentioned amount.
The Court of Appeal – Jeddah upheld the ruling based on same grounds.
