A claimant filed a case against a defendant before the court. He requested the court to order the defendant to pay him 100000 Riyals. He said that he had paid the amount to the defendant in order to invest it in trading in goods but he had failed to commit to his obligations.

The court said that the case documents had revealed that the claimant provided the court with a document signed by the defendant in which he had pledged to pay the mentioned amount at certain date. The court said that the defendant had failed to commit to his agreement.

The court ruled that the defendant should pay the claimant the amount.

The Court of Appeal – Jeddah upheld the ruling based on same grounds.
