SCA 1270/2019
This case involved furnishing work which was to be done on a hotel. The originally contracted business failed to complete the agreed work and a contract was given to another company which completed it. The claimant requested the differences between the two contracts. As the amount was less than the total originally contracted amount the company had not lost money and the claim was rejected.
Background
A claimant filed a case against a company before the court. He said that the company had agreed to install furniture in his hotel for 314181 Riyals. He said that the company received 221967 Riyals but they failed to commit to their obligations. He said that he then agreed with another company to complete the work and to fix shortcomings and paid them 150000 Riyals. He requested the court to order the company to pay him 57786 Riyals for the difference between the two contracts.
The company denied the claims made by the claimant and said they had finished all the agreed work.
