Missing money – Bank – Employee Responsibility – Theft – Sentencing
In this case there was a short fall in the amount of money in a bank ATM machine. The two employees who were jointly responsible for filling the machine were ruled as being jointly responsible for this short fall as they had not reported it in their inventory, given any explanation or accused another party.
Background
A bank filed a case before the Riyadh General Court against two employees whose were responsible for filling the automated case machine with money. There was a deficit between the amount they had been provided to fill the machine with and what had been taken out by clients of 300,000 Riyals. It was stated both the employees should bear responsibility for this as they had not mentioned the deficit in their inventory report. Both the employees confirmed what had been stated by the bank, denied having any knowledge or explanation for what had happened and did not accuse anyone else. They were ready to take oath.
