Background

The office of public prosecution filed a case against a defendant before the court. They requested the court to charge the defendant. They said that the defendant had got married from a non-Saudi woman in violation of the relevant laws.

Decision

The court ruled that the consideration of the case did not fall under its jurisdiction in accordance with announcement No. 3 of the Chief of the Board of Grievances.

The office appealed the ruling before the court of appeal.

The court dismissed the appeal and upheld the appealed ruling.
