The office of the public prosecution filed a case against a defendant before the court. It requested the court to penalize the defendant for bribing a public servant in order not to issue a fine against him.

The defendant admitted that he paid the public servant 100 Riyals as a bribe.

The court ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for three months and that he should pay a fine of 1000 Riyals. The court ruled that the bribe should be confiscated.

The court of appeal upheld the ruling.
