SBG 3571/2015

This case involved a hospital manager who had not enforced a travel ban on two doctors. A key issue was whether they were responsible for issuing visa and their awareness of the bans.

Background

The office of the public prosecution filed a case against a deputy manager of a hospital before the court. They requested the court to penalize the defendant for misusing his authority. It said that the manager was ordered to prevent two doctors from travelling but he failed to do so.

Decision

The court considered the documents of the case. The court said that the documents revealed that the manager was not aware of the travel ban. The court said that issuing of visas was the responsibility of the department of employees' affairs.

The court acquitted the defendant.

The court of appeal upheld the ruling.
