This case involved whether a court had jurisdiction to execute a foreign ruling issued in the UAE.
Background
A claimant filed a case against a defendant before the court. He requested the court to execute a ruling which had been issued in UAE ordering the defendant to pay $142850605.
Decision
The court considered the documents of the case. The court said that the Saudi Arabia Royal Decree No. 53M/1433 stipulated that the department of execution in the public courts should execute the ruling issued by the relevant courts.
The court ruled that the execution of the ruling does not fall under its jurisdiction.
The claimant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal.
The court dismissed the appeal and upheld the appealed ruling.
