This case involved an individual who had applied for a university job with a forged educational qualification. He claimed a company had defrauded him and issued the false certificate when he studied remotely. The case looked at evidence and sentencing.

Background

The General Prosecutor filed a claim against the defendant because he had submitted a request to the Alqasim University claiming that he had Master's degree from King Saud University and applied to be a lecturer. The documents he submitted were inspected and found to be forged. The university requested his punishment. The investigation led to accusing the defendant of forgery and of using forged documents therefore the General requested that he is punished by a prison sentence and a fine pursuant to the provisions of Articles 8 and 19 of the Anti-Forgery Criminal Law (AFCL)

The defendant said the accusation was incorrect and that he been subjected to fraud and deceit by a student services company. He claimed that he had studied remotely using the company and they gave him the certificate. The defendant gave the address of the company which was closed now and he had no further addresses for it.
