Background
The office of public prosecution filed a case against a defendant before the court. It requested the court to charge the defendant with bribing a security officer in order to release him.
The defendant denied the claim made by the office. He said that he paid the officer because he had requested him to do so.
Decision
The court considered the documents of the case. The court said that the defendant failed to prove his claim.
The court ruled that the defendant should be charged for bribery in accordance with Article 15 of Saudi Arabia Royal Decree No. M36/1412.
The court of appeal upheld the ruling accordingly.
