Background
A wife filed a case before the Riyadh General Court against her husband and requested divorce (Khula) because he had cheated on her by hiding the fact he was sterile. The husband confirmed his wife's statements of being legally married and that their marriage had never been consummated. He accepted divorce after the mutual consent his wife would give him back the amount of the dower (Mahr) which was estimated at 10,000 Riyals and golden jewellery worth 5000 Riyals.
Decision
The court ruled the husband should divorce his wife and receive a compensation of 10,000SR along with the gold he had offered her.
