Road Traffic Accident - Motor Insurance Claim - Personal Injury - Jurisdiction - Time Bar
This case involved an employee who had been injured while a work by a vehicle insured by the defendant. The employee made a claim against the insurer which was a QFC entity. The first question was whether the QFC court had jurisdiction when the injured person was not resident in the QFC and the company which owned the vehicle was based in onshore Qatar. Also considered was whether application was time barred under employment legislation. An initial claim had been made by the employee against their employer and a labour insurance company. This application was against a motor insurer and was not impacted by the time bar under employment legislation
