The original dispute had involved a claim by an individual who stated they had been a former employee under an oral employment contract for sums owed including a bonus. The defendant had issued a statement of defence which stated they had never been an employee and made allegations of fraud. As it was vague there was a court order for them to provide additional evidence which they did not supply as ordered. This case was a request by the claimant that the defendant's statement of defence be struck out and that they be debarred from contesting the case.
Background
This case was an application by the Claimant for an order that the Defence be struck out and the Defendant be debarred from contesting the Claim; and judgment may be entered; or the Defence will be struck out; and the Defendant be debarred from contesting the Claim; and judgment be entered, unless within 21 days, the Defendant paid 500,000.00 Riyals into the court; and ( pays the Claimant's costs.
