Background
On 2 May 2019 the applicants sought permission to appeal a court of first instance decision on 10 April 2019 The court had ruled in favour of the respondent against the two applicants that they should jointly and severally pay 19. 463, 394.21 Riyals for unpaid credit facilities which had been guaranteed. The respondent was also awarded reasonable costs. The claim had involved a credit facility which had been entered into with a Qatari bank for the borrower's contracted public works. The agreement was under Qatari law and the QFC court was to hear any dispute. Various amendments were made to the agreement and significant sums were drawn down. The bank gave notice to the debtor and guarantor on 4 October 2018 that it was going to take court action for the outstanding amount 19. 463, 394.21 Riyals.
