KCC 2586/2020
This case involved the refusal of a nomination for the general election. Although the individual had committed crimes these had not involved honesty and honour.
Background
A claimant filed a case against the vice prime minister and the minister of interior before the court. He requested the court to dismiss a decision by which his nomination to the general election had been refused. He said that he had met all the legal requirements for nomination.
The court dismissed the case.
The claimant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court upheld the appealed ruling.
The claimant appealed the ruling before the court of cassation. He said in his grounds of appeal that the ruling had erred in the application of law and had insufficient evidence of causation. He said that the court established the ruling on the grounds that a criminal ruling was issued against him. He said that the crimes he had had committed did not impact his honesty and honour.
